Paris, October 13, 2021 - NextStage AM announces, through all of its FCPIs, the investment in the company MoonBikes which has developed an innovative solution to address the problem of mobility in snowy environments: an electric snowbike intended for general public and mountain professionals. NextStage AM is one of the new main investors in this 4,5 round funding millions of euros.
This fundraising, in which the long-standing investors of the company as well as Vincent Gombault (co-founder of Ardian) and American and French business angels join forces, will allow MoonBikes to accelerate its deployment in European winter resorts. , Scandinavian and North American to become a benchmark player in electric mobility in snowy environments.
This investment is fully in line with NextStage AM's strategy, which targets young innovative nuggets with high growth potential, whose technologies are disruptive in their market. As such, MoonBikes benefits from the Bpifrance “Innovative Company” label, which makes it eligible for FCPIs and high-tech public contracts. In addition, the company operates in the field of green growth, one of the underlying trends of NextStage AM.
Founded in 2018 by Nicolas Muron in the French Alps, MoonBikes designs, assembles and distributes an electric mobility solution in snowy environments for professionals and the general public. The electric snowbike is an innovative, inexpensive and disruptive industrial response in a market still predominantly dominated by heavy, noisy and polluting thermal vehicles. The fruit of nearly three years of research and development, the eponymous machine Made in France is powered by an innovative and patented electrical system, giving it remarkable performance (up to 42km / h, a maximum autonomy of nearly 3 hours) while being a more environmentally friendly solution, easy to use and never requiring very little maintenance.
Designed to respond to the problem of mobility in snowy environments, the MoonBike is aimed at individuals and professionals looking for a green, simple and silent mode of transport, and at ski resorts looking to diversify their activity. Present in around fifteen French winter resorts (Tignes, Val d'Isère, Courchevel, Avoriaz, Flaine, etc.), the company is expanding internationally (Scandinavia and North America).
Originally from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and based in Annecy, the start-up currently employs around ten people.
“The vision of Nicolas Muron, mountain enthusiast, and the commitment of his teams, have enabled one of the most efficient snow-covered electric mobility solutions on the market to emerge. Supported by leading industrial partners, the company offers a robust, versatile machine with a limited impact on the environment to as many people as possible. Our ambition is to support it in its growth and international development, in promising markets such as Scandinavia and North America ”, declares Grégoire Sentilhes, President of NextStage AM. “We are delighted to take part in this adventure, which is at the heart of current mobility and environmental issues. Born in Haute-Savoie, MoonBikes is a company rooted in our territories and we are proud to keep this local economic fabric alive, at our level ”he adds.
As pointed out by Nicolas Muron, founder and CEO of MoonBikes “This new step in the young history of Moonbikes is notably the fruit of a meeting with Grégoire Sentilhes and the partners of NextStage AM who share the same vision and the same culture of entrepreneurship. For the MoonBikes team, it is also the opportunity to rely on specialists in business strategy very focused on digital and customer experience, essential skills for our ambitious international development. Finally, it is a shared desire to develop innovative projects rooted in their territory, at the service of a positive and sustainable economy at the heart of which entrepreneurs and investors play their full part and together develop green and virtuous growth ”.
And to Vincent Gombault, historical pillar of Ardian, to detail: “I invested in MoonBikes to follow Nicolas Muron, an exemplary young entrepreneur, who has a simple but promising idea: electric snowbikes. In my professional life, I have met many business leaders, and my know-how is to bet on valuable people ”.
