NextStage AM reaffirms its support for Inova on the occasion of a growth capital transaction led by The Carlyle Group
Lyon, France, July 01, 2021 - The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG), an international investment company announces a growth capital transaction with Inova, software publisher for the biopharmaceutical industry, in order to accelerate growth, finance the innovation and support external growth initiatives. Carlyle is investing € 60 million and will become the main shareholder in the transaction, while the Management and the historic investor NextStage AM have also reinvested on this occasion and reaffirm their strong support for the group.
Based in Lyon, France, with offices in New York, Denver and Tokyo, Inova is a leading software platform in the life sciences industry, facilitating partnerships between pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Carlyle Europe Technology Partners (CETP) IV, a € 1,4 billion fund that invests in technology-driven opportunities in Europe and the United States will invest in equity. The partnership with Inova represents another milestone for CETP's “vertical software” business, following recent investments in 1E and the exits of NetMotion Software and Eggplant. The investment in Inova is part of Carlyle's long-term international commitment to healthcare and technology, in which the company has invested $ 39 billion since its inception.
This new investment by Nextstage in smart health, for an amount of € 6,7 million, will be made as part of the Championnes III program. This is the second investment of NextStage Championnes III which is dedicated to the equity financing of innovative French SMEs established in the regions (particularly in smart health, digital, environmental innovation, etc.) and which benefits from the Relance Label.
